UKRAINIAN VILLAGE — A trio of apartments will be ready for renters on June 1 in a new building that replaced a demolished 2-flat anchored by a pawn shop across from Mariano's in Ukrainian Village.

Stephen Dykun, founder and president of SRD Development Group, which built the apartment building at 2054 W. Chicago Ave., described the three, three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments as "ultra modern."

The rentals feature high-end stainless steel appliances, Grohe faucets, quartz and marble countertops, custom gray-stained oak wood floors, balconies and garage parking.

Rents for the 1,550-square-foot apartments start at $3,200, according to a listing.

The top floor apartment features 12-foot ceilings and a rooftop deck with Downtown skyline views.

So far, there is no tenant yet for the commercial retail spot on the ground floor of the 4-story brick building that uses a style of brick called "Sioux City vintage" known for its blackish-gray color.

Built in 1908, the original building at 2054 W. Chicago Ave. was demolished in March 2016.
