CHICAGO — A fight between two groups of women led to one of them accidentally being hit by a car early Wednesday in the Gold Coast, police said.
At 2:50 a.m., two women, who were 21 and 22 years old, were in the first block of West Elm Street when they got into a fight with another group of women, police said. A woman from the other group took out a knife and threatened the two women.
The two women tried to get into a car, but as the 21-year-old woman was driving away she accidentally hit the 22-year-old, who was trying to get into the car while it was moving, police said. The 21-year-old drove a short distance and stopped.
The 22-year-old woman was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where her injuries were not life-threatening. Her condition was not available but police said she was listed as "stable."
The 21-year-old woman was cited for failing to render aid, police said. No one was arrested.
