CHICAGO — James King, 22, was shot dead in Englewood early Wednesday, officials said.
At 12:35 a.m., the man was found shot in his chest in the 6600 block of South Carpenter Street, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition.
King, of the 2400 block of West Lexington, was pronounced dead at 1:59 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one was in custody.
