CHICAGO — A Kennedy-King College student was in custody after his girlfriend said he threatened her in a video, police said.

At 12:12 p.m. Monday, the woman contacted security officers at Kennedy-King College in the 700 block of West 63rd Street and told them her boyfriend had sent her a text where he threatened her, police said. The message contained a video where the man held a gun, police said.

The security officers and Chicago Police officers found the armed man on the second floor of the school, where he was a student, police said. He ran away from officers and Chicago Police tried to use a Taser on him but it had no effect.

The man got out of the school, but officers took him into custody in the 6300 block of South Lowe, police said. They found a gun in his bookbag.

Charges were pending.
