By Tanveer Ali | May 13, 2017 8:12am

CHICAGO — Two men were wounded in separate shootings that occurred at the same time in River West and West Town Saturday morning, police said.

In the 400 block of North Halsted Street at 12:45 a.m., a 47-year-old man was in a vehicle when a gunman got out of a van and tried to carjack the man.

The man, who had a concealed carry permit, showed his gun, but the carjacker used his own weapon to shoot him before fleeing.

The victim was shot in his hand and went to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.

At the same time as that shooting, a 22-year-old man was shot in his upper left back while in the 1700 block of West Huron Street.

Prior to that shooting he was being followed by unknown people in a vehicle. The driver shot him, police said.

The victim was taken to Northwestern in good condition.

There have been no arrests in either incident.
