THE LOOP — DNAinfo Chicago won four awards from the local branch of the Society of Professional Journalists Friday night, including Best Neighborhood News Site.

The awards were revealed at a Union League of Chicago ceremony hosted by the Chicago Headline Club, the local branch of the Society of Professional Journalists.

The neighborhood news site won Peter J. Lisagor awards for:

All Media - Best Feature Series
"Chicago Homeless Get Left Behind" - Josh McGhee

Online - Best Neighborhood/Community News

Online - Best Use of Digital Technology
"Chicago's Train Seating Series" - Tanveer Ali

Online - Best Photo
"Veterans Volunteer for Vietnam War Memorial" - Kelly Bauer

The Peter J. Lisagor Awards are named after the late, longtime Washington Bureau Chief of the Chicago Daily News.

DNAinfo has been covering Chicago's neighborhoods since late 2012, dedicating reporters to find news from the the Far North Side to the Far South Side.
