Chemical Reaction In Belmont Cragin Pool Sends 5 To Hospital

CHICAGO — Two adults and three children were hospitalized after a chemical reaction in a Belmont Cragin pool exposed them to too much chlorine, fire officials said.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the 2800 block of North Meade Avenue.

The chemicals were mixed indoors before the hazmat incident.

All five were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
