ANDERSONVILLE — Andersonville's annual festival celebrating the neighborhood's Swedish heritage will return for the 52nd year in June with free yoga, pet costume contests, ice cream-eating contests and a performance from Uptown's Lynne Jordan and the Shivers.
From Friday to Sunday, Midsommarfest will take over Clark Street from Foster Avenue to Catalpa Avenue for a weekend of music, entertainment and vendors, according to the event's Facebook page.
The festival hosted by the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce raises money to support the chamber's yearly activities via a $10 suggested donation.
The festival kicks off June 9 with a set from 48th Ward Chief of Staff DJ Dan Luna at 5 p.m. followed by performances from To the 9s at 6 p.m. and 16 Candles at 8 p.m. on the North Stage.
