Kaveon Walton, 17, Killed In Calumet Heights Shooting; Man Wounded

CHICAGO — Kaveon Anthoni Walton, 17, was shot to death and a 22-year-old man wounded in Calumet Heights on Tuesday, officials said.

At 12:21 p.m., the two were walking in the 2300 block of East 95th Street when two masked men came out of a black SUV and fired shots at the victims, police said.

The teen was hit multiple times in his chest, right leg and right arm and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, police said.

Walton, of the 2100 block of East 97th Street, was pronounced dead at 1:32 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

The 22-year-old man was hit multiple times throughout his body and was taken to Northwestern Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The victims were documented gang members, a police source said.

The shooters got back in their SUV and drove east on 95th Street, police said. No one was in custody.
