CHICAGO — A man was hit by a car and killed near O'Hare early Monday, police said.
At 12:40 a.m., the man was walking in the middle road in the 11500 block of West Irving Park Road when a truck hit him, police said. The driver of the truck stopped to give the man aid and call 911.
The man was taken to Lutheran General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The man, who has not been identified yet, was 40-50 years old and appeared to be homeless.
The driver of the truck was issued a citation for failing to exercise due care, police said.
