CHICAGO — Three people were shot in and near a restaurant in Back of the Yards on Saturday, police said.
At 12:25 p.m., a 44-year-old man was walking in the 1100 block of West 51st Street when someone fired shots at him, police said. The man ran into a restaurant and the shooter ran after him and fired shots at the restaurant.
A 31-year-old woman and 39-year-old man who were inside the restaurant were hit. The woman was hit in her torso and critically wounded. The man was hit in his right leg, and his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said. Police think the two were unintended targets.
The 44-year-old man was hit in his left arm and foot, and his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said. A police source said he was a documented gang member.
All three were taken to Stroger Hospital, police said.
No one was in custody.
