LAKEVIEW — Police will be looking for drunken drivers in the Town Hall District this weekend, targeting a popular entertainment district that spans from Lincoln Park to Uptown and includes Wrigleyville.

From 6 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday, Chicago police will increase patrols to look for signs of impaired driving in Lakeview and portions of Uptown, North Center, Lincoln Park, Lincoln Square and Uptown.

The crackdown will begin at the same time as the Chicago Cubs game against the New York Yankees at Wrigley Field, which typically leads to increased traffic in the area.

In addition to drunken drivers, police will be looking for speeders, those not wearing their seatbelts and other scofflaws.

Over the past weekend, a DUI saturation patrol was held in the Grand Central District on the city's West Side.

The one-night patrol yielded 44 tickets, half of which were for unsafe vehicle violations. No one was arrested for diving under the influence.
