About 11:40 p.m., the woman crashed a car near a brick embankment in the 1100 block of South Indiana Avenue, police said. A passenger — a 52-year-old man — and the woman were taken to Northwestern Hospital.

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital and the woman was being treated for injuries to her right leg, police said.
