FULLER PARK — The Goodman Theatre is throwing open the doors to its scenery shop for a prop giveaway from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday or while supplies last.

The event will take place at the Goodman Theatre Scene Shop, 363 W. Pershing Road, and include prop and set pieces from past productions, including "King Lear" and "Brigadoon."

All items will be given away for free, but the theater is requesting a $10 minimum donation instead of an admission fee. Proceeds will benefit Season of Concern, an organization that helps members of the theater community struggling with medical issues.

“The Chicago theater community is incredibly collaborative and supportive of one another, and we are proud to give back in this way,” Goodman Theatre production manager Scott Conn said in a statement. “Our last giveaway in 2014 was an enormous success, with everything gone in only 90 minutes. We hope to see as many of our peers again.”

Since its creation in 1987, Season of Concern has distributed more than $2.5 million to 35 HIV/AIDS service organizations in Chicago. It also provides assistance to members of the Chicago theater community struggling with illness or other health-related events.

All items at the giveaway must be taken immediately. Parking will be available on site.
