CHICAGO — Xavier Soto, 15, died two days after being shot Thursday near his home in Belmont Cragin, officials said.
At 8:03 p.m., Soto and another 16-year-old boy were in the 4900 block of West George Street when a car drove up and someone inside fired shots, police said.
The 15-year-old was hit in his head and taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Soto, of the same block where he was shot, was pronounced dead at 4:09 p.m. Saturday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The 16-year-old was hit in his thigh, buttocks and arm and taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious condition, police said.
No one was in custody.
