CHICAGO — An 18-year-old man is dead after he was struck by a stolen car fleeing police from the scene of a West Pullman shooting Friday night, police said.

Police arrived in the 12700 block of South Halsted Street to calls of shots fired at 8:43 p.m.

While no one was found wounded at the scene, officers saw several males in a white Ford fleeing the scene.

The Ford went westbound through a red light and struck a red Toyota Corolla in the 12700 block of South Throop Street several blocks away in suburban Calumet Park.

The Toyota's driver, 18, was pronounced dead. His 20-year-old passenger was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The Toyota also struck a Saturn.

Police determined the Ford was a stolen vehicle.

One person has been arrested and no other injuries were reported.

Chicago Police's Major Accidents unit is investigating.
