Unicorn Ball To Support Trans Chicagoans Kicks Off Saturday

CHICAGO — The Trans Liberation Collective will host its Official Coming Out Party, called the Unicorn Ball, this Saturday in West Town. 

The Unicorn Ball will include performances by storytellers and dancers as well as a silent auction. Funds raised by the event will be used for a LGBTQ projects, like a center for and run by trans people in South Chicago.

The party kicks off at the Shapiro Ballroom, 1612 W. Chicago Ave. at 6p.m. Saturday and goes until midnight.

"We hope that, with your help, we can create a space for our communities to be safe, loved, and thrive in their truths. We hope to see you all there, so we can each let our inner unicorns out together,” the Trans Liberation Collective said in a statement.

There is no cover charge. According to the event's Facebook page, the event is accessible for everyone 18 and over, and those over 21 will receive two drink tickets for the bar.
