LAKEVIEW — A four-bedroom home at 1754 W. Surf St. with four full bathrooms and one half bath is listed for $2,775,000.

"This is one of the prettiest houses I've ever sold," listing agent Suzanne Gignilliat said. "It wasn't built as a spec house, so it has a more unusual layout, a wide lot and an attention to detail you typically wouldn't find in a spec. It was done in a thoughtful way that feels timeless and not dated at all."

The modern floor plan has transitional decor, and with huge windows the home is very bright.

The family room and living room both have fireplaces, and the living room leads to the kitchen and separate breakfast room. A deck off the kitchen leads to a sports court.

The second level of the house has three of the four bedrooms along with a study that could easily be converted into a bedroom. The fourth bedroom is on the lower level, which also has an exercise room, a home theater and rec room. The master suite includes a fireplace, a sitting room, separate closets and an en suite master bath.

The home is in the attendance areas for Lake View High School and Burley Elementary School and is also close to Chi Che Wang Park, which was just redone. This pocket of the neighborhood has no alleys — all the homes have driveways and garages, Gignilliat said.

"It feels like it's located in the suburbs because of all the quiet, cul de sac streets and such little traffic," she said. "It's a secret gem of a neighborhood, yet you're a block from Jewel and can eat anywhere on Ashland or Lincoln avenues."
