CHICAGO — The Patio Theater, 6008 W. Irving Park Road, will jam decades of sci-fi classics into a single day this weekend, daring hardcore film-lovers to stick around from noon Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday.

But even for those who don't last the whole 14 hours, a single ticket gives free reign to "come and go as you like" throughout the Sci-Fi Spectacular, according to the event description.

Movies lined up include:

• The 1964 monster flick "Mothra vs. Godzilla"

• The 1972 film adaptation of the Kurt Vonnegut novel "Slaughterhouse Five"

• The 1981 "Mad Max" sequel "Road Warrior," featuring a live appearance by star Vernon Wells

• The 1984 crime farce "Repo Man"

• The interplanetary 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger epic "Total Recall"

Interspersed among the feature films will be more than a dozen short films and trailers for 1950s horror movies.

Those include "Invasion of the Moon Doodle," "Unspeakable Teens," and "The Lazy Werewolf" and "Robot Mobster."

Attendees won't need to leave the theater for dinner, with the Lincoln Square eatery Taco in a Bag selling food on site. Vendors like Reel Art Collectibles and Asunder Art and Jewelry will also operate booths at the event.

Tickets can be bought online for $20, or at the door for $25.
