Shooting Inside Humboldt Park Wounds Woman, Man: Police

CHICAGO — A man and a woman were wounded in a shooting inside Humboldt Park early Saturday morning, police said.

The two were standing in the park when they heard shots. The woman, 35, was grazed in her left leg. The man, 37, was shot in his left buttocks.

Both took themselves to Stroger Hospital.

The incident occurred at 2:24 a.m. in the 1200 block of North Mozart Street in the southeast corner of the park. Police initially thought it occurred further inside the park.

Police say the male victim is a documented gang member.
