CHICAGO — A man sexually abused a 6-year-old girl at a Northwest Side grocery store on Saturday, police said.
At 9:30 p.m., the two were in a grocery store in the 3900 block of West Diversey Avenue when the man walked up to the girl, motioned to her and kissed her on her cheek, according to a Chicago Police community alert.
The man then grabbed the girl's hand and put it into his pants pocket, police said.
A relative of the girl confronted the man, and the man ran out of the store, police said.
The man was Latino, 40 to 50 years old, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-7, had a medium build and black, medium-length hair, brown eyes and a thin mustache, police said. He wore a black baseball cap, black jacket, a white sweatshirt, green camouflage pants and black boots.
The man had a Spanish accent, police said, and has been known to frequent the Logan Square area.
