WEST RIDGE — Police are warning North Side residents about two burglaries in which the thieves walked in while people were at home.

Both incidents happened in the West Ridge neighborhood: first around 10:55 p.m. March 29 in the 2400 block of West Morse Avenue, then again a few days later at 7:10 p.m. April 4 in the 6800 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to police.

In both instances, the intruders came in through the front door while homeowners and tenants were inside and took money, credit cards, keys and other personal items, police said.

In one of the incidents, the burglar was described as a man between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, 140-170 pounds and was described as wearing black pants and a black hoodie.

Police urged residents to make sure they have working surveillance systems in place and to pay attention for suspicious people and cars in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 312-744-8263.
