ANDERSONVILLE — For the third year, Andersonville will welcome spring with its annual flower show this month.

This year the show, which was conceived by the owners of Mercantile M at 5409½ N. Clark St., promises to be the biggest to date with 28 participating neighborhood businesses, plus additional collaborators, according to a press release from the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce.

“This isn’t your typical ‘Flower Show’ showcasing only live plants ... We have businesses taking the concept and coming up with wonderfully creative ideas for spring window displays, shop takeovers, floral-themed food and interactive workshops,” the chamber said in the release.

For the show, Vincent Restaurant's menu will feature floral cocktails and edible flowers, Foursided will host a pop-up from Marguerite Gardens in front of the store and the Guesthouse Hotel will host a fresh floral shop in its lobby from A Pretty Flower in Lincoln Square.

Other participating businesses include Andersonville Galleria, Candyality, Fireside Chicago, Jerry's Sandwiches, Milk Handmade, Norcross and Scott, Scout, and Women and Children First Bookstore.

The flower show will coincide with Andersonville's Everything But The House fundraiser for its beloved water tower.
