CHICAGO — Alfonso Juan Calderon Jr., 26, was shot to death in East Side on Sunday night, officials said.
At 8:15 p.m., the man was standing in a vacant lot in the 10700 block of South Green Bay Avenue when two men walked up to him and fired shots, police said.
The man was hit in his chest, arm and hand and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said.
Calderon, of the 13200 block of South Avenue M, was pronounced dead at 9:07 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.
The shooters ran away and no one was in custody, police said.
