CHICAGO — Twelve people were shot, two fatally, in shootings citywide since Friday morning, police said.
A 21-year-old man died after being shot in his neck in Archer Heights Friday evening.
Earlier, six people were shot, including a teenager who died, in Austin.
In non-fatal shootings:
• Two men were shot in an apparent drive-by in South Deering early Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred in the 10800 block of South Hoxie Avenue at 4:57 a.m., police said.
A 22-year-old man was shot in his back while a 27-year-old man was shot in his face. Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition.
The shots were fired from a black jeep.
• In Back of the Yards, a 26-year-old man was shot twice in his hip while in the 4700 block of South Loomis Boulevard at 4:33 a.m.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
• Two men, 22 and 26, were shot in Greater Grand Crossing.
The incident occurred in the 6900 block of South Harvard Avenue at 7:05 p.m. Friday.
The older man was shot in his leg and the younger man was shot in his ankle. Both are in good condition.
