Chicago Lawn, Gage Park Robberies Lead To Police Warning

CHICAGO — Chicago Police are warning residents about a series of robberies in Chicago Lawn and Gage Park in the past three weeks.

In two cases, the robber approached victims and demanded property, police said. 

The robberies occurred:

• 10:23 p.m. March 15 in the 6300 block of South Fairfield Avenue

• 12:25 p.m. Tuesday in the 6400 block of South California Avenue

Police described the robber as black man betweem 20-30 years old, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 and weighing 140-150 pounds.

In two other cases, two men approached victims and demanding property.

The robberies occurred:

• 4:40 p.m. March 13 in the 5500 block of South Christiana Avenue

• 10:29 p.m. Tuesday in the 5500 block of South Christiana Avenue

Those robbers were described as two Hispanic males between 17-19 years old. One is 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 and weighing 140-160 pounds. The second is 5-foot-8 and weighing 170 pounds.
