Five Ashburn Businesses Robbed In Three Weeks, Police Say

ASHBURN — Police are alerting South Side businesses after five robberies were reported in Ashburn in three weeks.

In the incidents, one or two armed robbers entered the businesses demanding money from the cash register, police said. 

The robberies occurred:

• at 7:05 p.m. March 20 in the 4000 block of West 79th Street 

• at 7:05 p.m. March 20 in the 7900 block of South Western Avenue

• at 9:22 p.m. March 26 in the 3300 block of West 87th Street

• at 9:54 p.m. April 2 in the 8200 block of South Kedzie Avenue

• at 8:55 p.m. April 3 in the 7900 block of South Cicero Avenue

The robbers were described as two black males between 15 and 25 years old. One is described as 5-foot-4 to 6-foot and weighs 110-170 pounds, police said. He has dreadlocks and was wearing a hoodie in the robberies. The second is 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-8 and weighs 130-150 pounds.
