Kahari Stovall, 16, Killed In North Lawndale Shooting, Officials Say

CHICAGO — Kahari Stovall, 16, was killed in a shooting in North Lawndale on Wednesday, police said.

At 1:06 p.m., the boy and a 19-year-old man were coming out of a store in the 1300 block of South Lawndale Avenue when they heard shots, police said.

The 16-year-old was hit in his lower back and abdomen and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said. The 19-year-old man was hit in his knee and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.

Stovall, of the 7300 block of South East End Avenue, was pronounced dead at 3:40 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No one was in custody.
