CHICAGO — A person was shot at Wednesday night while driving on the Kennedy Expressway in an apparent case of "road rage," state police said.

At 11:03 p.m., the person was driving when someone in a blue Nissan SUV sped up from behind the victim, police said. The victim pulled over to let the Nissan pass, but the driver of the Nissan then pulled over to let the victim pass.

The Nissan followed the victim's car and, while the victim was driving on I-90 south from Avondale Avenue, someone in the Nissan fired shots, police said.

The victim's car was hit once, with a bullet going through the driver's side door and shattering the window, police said.

The Nissan was a newer model, but the victim was not sure how many people were inside, police said. Anyone with information was asked to call police at 847-294-4400.
