DOWNTOWN — It'll hit 70 degrees and be sunny and dry over the weekend.

Of course, that comes after a week that saw Chicago pummeled by rain and wind, and temperatures will drop early next week. So get outside while you can.

Friday will see high temperatures in the lower 50s, with the lakeshore area being a little cooler, said Casey Sullivan, a National Weather Service meteorologist. High temperatures will rise to the low to mid-60s Saturday and are expected to hit the low 70s Sunday.

"We're going to add 8 to 10 degrees each day, and each day will be dry," Sullivan said.

No rain is expected over the weekend, and Friday could be the first day in three weeks with full sun, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will again see high temperatures in the lower 70s, Sullivan said, but the chance of rain has been increasing, and there's a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and continuing into the evening.

High temperatures will fall to the 50s Tuesday and Wednesday, Sullivan said.
