CHICAGO — A 34-year-old man was shot and wounded in West Town early Wednesday, police said.
At 4:09 a.m., the man was outside in the 2500 block of West Cortez Street when someone pulled out a gun and shot at him, police said.
The man was hit in his leg and taken to St. Mary Hospital before being transferred to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said. The shooter ran away.
The man was a documented gang member, a police source said.
No one was in custody.
