CHICAGO — Tyrone Smith Jr., 17, was shot to death and a 20-year-old man wounded in West Englewood on Tuesday night, officials said.
At 10:50 p.m., the two were standing in an alley in the 5600 block of South Elizabeth Street when a man walked up and fired shots, police said.
The teen was hit in his chest and leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Smith, of the same block where he was killed, was pronounced dead at 11:21 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The man was hit in his right leg and taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
No one was in custody.
