BUCKTOWN — Cocktails, tattoo consultations and the opportunity to snag Nina Simone and Rosie the Riveter-inspired merch will be on tap at a "Female Is Now" celebration Wednesday.

Set for 6-9 p.m. at 1749 W Damen Ave. in Bucktown, Presidio's "evening of female empowerment" was prompted by an interest in embracing U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren and “Nevertheless, She Persisted” as a battle cry, according to a news release from the restaurant and cocktail lounge.

Cocktails inspired by Warren, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and other powerful women, mixed by Presidio bartender Shailee Weber, will cost $10 each, and a portion of drink sales will be donated to Planned Parenthood.

Options include "Notorious RBG" with coffee-infused vermouth, white rum, currant syrup, half & half coco cream and coco water; "Women Who Run the World" with white grape, olive oil washed pisco and honey syrup; and "Presidio’s Persistence," a riff on the classic Hanky Panky first created by a iconic London bartender Ada Coleman, with Fernet Dogma, Cacao nib-infused sweet vermouth and gin.

For those wanting to get inked in the near future, guest tattoo artist Jacob Kearney will be on hand to offer "female-forward tattoo consultations" and will sell tattoo gift certificates to use at a later date, organizers say.

Chicago-based streetwear label soundoff will donate 15 percent of all sales that night to Planned Parenthood. Soundoff creates apparel and gear inspired by strong female icons including Nina Simone, Josephine Baker, Mata Hari, Frida Kahlo, Rosie the Riveter and more.
