CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man who claimed to have been the victim of a drive-by shooting in Dunning was later determined to have accidentally shot himself in his leg Monday evening, police said.
At 5:54 p.m., the man walked into Resurrection Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his lower leg, according to police.
The man told officers that he had been standing in an alley near the 3600 block of North Harlem Avenue when a black SUV pulled up with four men inside, one of whom fired four shots.
It was later determined that the man "shot himself by accident," police said.
