WEST ROGERS PARK — Coyotes are most often described as "furtive" and "skulking."

More like graceful, athletic and airborne.

A West Rogers Park resident captured video last week of a coyote sprinting across the neighborhood's back yards, leaping over four- and five-foot fences in a single bound.

The animal has also been spied in nearby Rogers Park, 7345 N. Washtenaw Ave., the videographer said.

According to experts, urban coyotes pose little threat to humans, but are helping control the city's rat and goose populations.
