MORGAN PARK — The Morgan Park Sports Center will have tryouts for its USA Gymnastics competitive team from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the gymnastics facility at 11505 S. Western Ave.
An informational meeting for parents is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday with Stephanie Parisi, the head gymnastics coach in Morgan Park.
Children ages 6 and older can tryout for the tumbling and gymnastics teams. No previous experience is required. Being part of the team is a yearlong commitment.
Team members will participate in 4-6 competitions. The group also participates in Illinois Park District Gymnastics Conference events. The team generally practices 2-3 times a week for 2-3 hours each day.
