WEST BEVERLY — An armed robber held up the 7-Eleven convenience store at 2421 W. 103rd St. in West Beverly Saturday night, according to the Chicago Police Department.

At 9 p.m., the robber armed with a gun entered a store — just one block east of Beverly Park — and demanded cash as well as merchandise from the store clerk, a police spokesman said Monday.

Two clerks working Monday morning confirmed the robbery but referred all further questions to the store's manager. A request for comment was not immediately returned.

According to police, the clerk complied with the robber's demands Saturday night, and the robber then ran away. No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating, police said.

The convenience store was also robbed July 28, 2015. In that robbery, Chicago police ended up detaining a male and female suspect.

Keith Lewis, owner of Bookie's Paperbacks & More next door to the 7-Eleven at 2419 W. 103rd St., said police have asked for footage from his security camera for Saturday night.

"That's horrible," Lewis said of the robbery.
