Chicago Shootings Kill 1, Wound 13, Since Friday

CHICAGO — Shootings throughout the city left 14 people wounded and one man dead since Friday, police said.

Between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Friday, six people were shot.

20-year-old Tomorry Hill was killed in a West Englewood drive-by late Friday afternoon.

In non-fatal shootings:

• Two men were shot in an incident in Belmont Cragin in the 2200 block of North Laramie Avenue at 5:20 a.m. Saturday. Following the incident, the men walked into Community First Hospital looking for treatment. Both are in good condition: a 29-year-old man was shot in his left leg and a 22-year-old man was shot in his forearm, police said. 

• In West Garfield Park, a 36-year-old man was shot in his groin while walking on the sidewalk in the 3800 block of West Gladys Avenue, police said. The drive-by occurred at 1:03 a.m. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital.

• In Grand Boulevard, a 25-year-old man was sitting in a parked vehicle when shots were fired from a dark sedan. He was taken to Stroger hospital with a gunshot wound in his back. The incident occurred in the 4500 block of South Vincennes Avenue at 11:05 p.m.

• In Austin, a 19-year-old man was shot in his left knee while walking on a sidewalk. The victim took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital. The incident occurred at 10:47 p.m. in the 700 block of North Pine Avenue, police said. 

• In Altgeld Gardens, a 22-year-old man was shot in his right leg while walking in the 13000 block of South Langley Avenue at 7:53 p.m. He was taken to Christ Hospital after the incident in which someone approached and shot him, police said. 

• In Lincoln Square, a 19-year-old man was shot in his face in the 2800 block of West Balmoral Avenue at 6:46 p.m. and taken to St. Francis Hospital in serious condition.

• Two people were shot while in the 1700 block of West 72nd Street in West Englewood at 3:20 p.m., according to police. A 19-year-old man was critically wounded after being hit in his torso. An 18-year-old man is in fair condition after being shot in his stomach. Both are at Christ Hospital. 

• In Oakland, a 17-year-old was shot in his head inside a home in the 3800 block of South Langley Avenue. Police discovered the boy unresponsive at 3:15 p.m.

• A 16-year-old boy was shot his leg while walking in the 6600 block of South Francisco Avenue in Chicago Lawn. The shooting occurred at 2:51 p.m.

• A 31-year-old man is in good condition after being shot in a drive-by while in the 6200 block of South Ellis Avenue in Woodlawn at 2:42 p.m. He was taken to University of Chicago Hospitals after someone shot at him from a gray SUV.

• A 17-year-old boy was shot in his groin while in the 6900 block of South Peoria Street in Englewood at 2:32 p.m. He was sitting in front of a home when people walked up to him and fired shots. He was taken to Christ Hospital.
