CHICAGO — Shootings have wounded eight people since Thursday, police said.
• Most recently, at 1:51 a.m. Friday, a 27-year-old man was shot in Washington Park, police said. The man was in his apartment in the 5200 block of South Michigan Avenue when a boy or man walked in and shot him.
The man was hit in his left leg and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
The man could not provide any further details about the circumstances of the shooting, police said.
• At 11:25 p.m. Thursday, a 42-year-old man was wounded by a shooting in Riverdale, police said. The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 13300 block of South Indiana Avenue when a boy or man in a parking lot fired shots at him.
The victim's left leg was grazed by a bullet and he refused medical attention, police said.
• At 10:29 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in West Englewood, police said. The man was driving in the 6600 block of South Racine Avenue when he was shot in his head.
The man crashed into a parked car and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said.
No further information was immediately available.
• At 6:38 p.m., a 31-year-old man and 30-year-old man were shot in Austin, police said. The two were walking in the 4900 block of West Walton Street when someone walked up to them and fired shots.
The 31-year-old man was shot in the side of his body and the 30-year-old man was shot in his arm. They were taken to West Suburban Hospital, where their conditions were not available but they were listed as "stable," police said.
• At 6:34 p.m., a 38-year-old man was shot in Auburn Gresham, police said. The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 8300 block of South Throop Street when a boy or man got out of a red SUV and fired shots at him.
The man was hit in his right leg and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
The man was a documented gang member, a police source said.
• At 6:08 p.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man was in the 5900 block of West Erie Street when he was shot in his head.
The man took himself to West Suburban Hospital and was transferred to Stroger Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
The man was uncooperative with officers, a police source said.
No further information was immediately available.
• At 2:15 p.m., a 22-year-old woman was shot in Logan Square during a drive-by.
No one was in custody in these shootings.
