CHICAGO — A fundraiser with a goal of $15,000 is set for Saturday for a play garden at McKinley Park.

The event is set for 7-10 p.m. at Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3219-21 S. Morgan St.

According to a Facebook post: "The McKinley Park Play Garden will be a community-led space where neighbors can connect while children explore and make their own nature memories. We envision a play stage for children to entertain each other and their parents, where area schools and community groups can gather for performances.

"Circling the garden will be a forest climbing path kids can traverse. The flagpole will be surrounded by a multi-level fortress and will host a bat house at the top. Kids will be able to concoct all kind of 'tasty' stone soups in the mud kitchen. Kids will engage their imaginations in the shipwreck gravel pit."
