CHICAGO — Chance The Rapper wants you to buy a Lollapalooza ticket. But is he going to perform?

A tweet from Chance Tuesday morning piqued curiosity from fans who believe the superstar MC from Chatham might be playing Chicago's biggest summer music festival.

Lollapalooza tickets went on sale Tuesday morning.

Music lovers began wondering if Chance would headline Lollapalooza after the rapper — born Chancelor Bennett — noticeably dropped a tour schedule without any Chicago stops or dates during the four-day music festival in Grant Park. Lolla  runs Aug. 3-6 this year.

Headlining the festival wouldn't be unusual for Chance, who dropped in on other sets during last year's Lollapalooza and has only raised his profile since. He led a free show in Grant Park the night before the 2016 presidential election, organized his own music festival at Guaranteed Rate Field and has also played the Taste of Chicago.

Playing Lollapalooza could mean no new Chance festival on the South Side this summer, given Lolla's notorious "radius clause" that dictates performers' Midwestern tour stops. But Lolla promoters have reportedly waived clauses for high-profile acts, including OutKast and Chvrches.
