ANDERSONVILLE — Hallie Borden, founder of the Andersonville womenswear boutique Milk Handmade, is teaming up with her sister Dana for her newest venture — a bridal shop.

The sisters will open Honey in the storefront next to Milk Handmade, 5137 N. Clark St., the team announced on social media Thursday.

"Honey is a modern wedding shop where you are free to be exactly who you are. We stock dresses and separates that range from understated and untraditional to full-on ball gown," according to the Facebook post.

The duo that bills themselves as "complete opposites" yet "exactly the same" hope to bring "a fresh take on bridal to Chicago," according to Milk Handmade's Facebook post.

Dana hails from the wedding industry, while Hallie is a former corporate marketing professional, who opened Milk Handmade in 2012, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Honey is expected to open in Andersonville this summer.

We are Hallie and Dana, the honeys behind Honey. Here's a little bit about us: Hallie comes from a fashion background, and Dana comes from the wedding industry, so we're joining forces to bring you the best of both worlds. We are sisters. We are complete opposites and also exactly the same. We are bringing a fresh take on bridal to Chicago. Honey is a modern wedding shop where you are free to be exactly who you are. We stock dresses and separates that range from understated and untraditional to full-on ball gown. If white's not your color, or you prefer jumpsuits to gowns, that's fine. If you want to look like a Disney princess on your big day, that's cool, too. We don't judge, gasp, or ask if you're saying yes to the dress. We have comfy chairs, serve cocktails, and play your favorite tunes while you shop. We are opening in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago, summer 2017. Follow along as we create our space, make mistakes, and ogle pretty dresses along the way.
