WEST RIDGE — A historic 90-year-old Tudor revival-style home with walls so thick it's referred to as "The Fortress" is on the market in West Ridge as the neighborhood's most expensive house for a cool $695,000.

The three-story single-family home at 2246 W. Greenleaf Ave. was built in 1927 and boasts 15-inch thick concrete walls; Limestone, brick and slate features; two gas-powered fireplaces; and a fenced-in backyard and outdoor patio.

Inside, orange, magenta, lavender and powder blue walls reflect off colorful stained glass details and shine bright against a bowed wall of natural light.

Mahogany and Oak accent the 5,000-square-foot home, which is certified by the American Institute of Architects.

Its ground floor showcases an office with a separate entrance, marble fireplace, wet bar, laundry, full kitchen and storage space.

The "truly one-of-a-kind" home was rehabbed in 2000, which was also the last year it sold (at $480,000), according to real estate site Redfin.
