AVONDALE — Honey Butter Fried Chicken and Floriole are teaming up on a hybrid they're calling the "croissantwich," but you'll have to order through the chicken outlet to get it.

It will be available Tuesday through Sunday for $10, but only at Honey Butter, 3361 N. Elston Ave., or through its Caviar online ordering site.

Honey Butter describes it as "a decadent yet simple spin on the traditional Honey Butter Fried Chicken sandwich," in that it basically takes a chicken sandwich and puts it on a croissant from Floriole, the Lincoln Park cafe and bakery located at 1220 W. Webster Ave.

The combined effort from Floriole's Sandra Holl and Honey Butter's Christine Cikowski and Joshua Kulp kicks off this year's installment in what has become an annual Clucker Collaboration series, which last year found the restaurant teaming up with Doug Sohn of Hot Doug's fame.

Honey Butter will be donating $1 on every croissantwich sold to Pilot Light, Floriole's favorite charity, an organization promoting food and nutrition education.
