CHICAGO — The Hard Rock Hotel was the place to be during Open House Chicago this year.

The 2016 festival, which ran Oct. 14-15, invited people to visit "sites of architectural interest" throughout the city, according to the Chicago Architecture Foundation.

In all, Open House saw more than 193,000 site visits Downtown, which had 63 spots for people to visit, according to a Chicago Architecture Foundation report. The Near North Side and Gold Coast, which had 17 places to see, had the next-highest amount of site visits with about 27,000.

The most-visited spot throughout the city turned out to the Hard Rock Hotel, while the Elks National Memorial was popular in neighborhoods outside Downtown.

Here were the top sites Downtown:

1. Hard Rock Hotel Chicago (Carbide and Carbon Building), 230 N. Michigan Ave.: 8,502 visits

2. Aon Center, 200 E. Randolph St.: 6,808 visits

3. Chicago Board of Trade Building, 141 W. Jackson Blvd.: 6,630 visits

4. The Kempler Building, 1 E. Upper Wacker Drive: 6,421 visits

5. Wintrust Bank Building, 231 S. La Salle St.: 6,054 visits

Here were the top sites in the neighborhoods:

1. Elks National Memorial, 2750 N. Lakeview Ave.: 5,204 visits

2. Florsheim Mansion, 1328 N. State St.: 4,649 visits

3. Colvin House, 5940 N. Sheridan Road: 4,284 visits

4. Yale Building, 6565 S. Yale Ave.: 3,869 visits

5. Brewster Building, 2800 N. Pine Grove Ave.: 3,795 visits
