DOWNTOWN — Want to drink under cover on the Riverwalk?

Next month, you can. For a price.

City Winery next month will debut heated "river domes" that can be rented out this spring.

The domes, which will be available from March 17 to April 30, can be rented out for 1.5 hours and include furniture, a Bluetooth speaker letting you play your own music, and riverfront views in the heart of Downtown.

The domes are the latest sign yet that Riverwalk vendors are pushing to stay open year-round. City Winery has said that business on the Riverwalk is often better than sales at its bigger, original restaurant in the West Loop.

The domes will allow City Winery Riverwalk to open two months earlier than it did last year.

But the comfort won't come cheap. Reservations cost $150 per person in parties of three or less, $125  for parties of four or five, and $100 per person in parties of six, the biggest group allowed in a dome. Prices do not include taxes or tips.

Reservations include three glasses of wine for each guest and a cheese-and-charcuterie spread.

"I think people would spend that on an afternoon out with three glasses of wine each, and cheese and meats, and then that view," Brooke Webster, general manager of the City Winery Riverwalk, said. "It’s definitely a commitment to make but I think we’re going to make it fun for everybody."

City Winery is taking dome reservations now from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Book online here
