Portage Park Home Burglaries Spur Police Warning

CHICAGO — At least five home burglaries were reported in Portage Park since the beginning of February, police said.

In each case, someone got into a house or apartment through its rear or side door and made off with electronics, jewelry, cash and other possessions, according to a Saturday community alert.

The burglaries were reported at the following times and locations:

• Between noon and 4 p.m. on Feb. 9 in the 5200 block of West Berteau Avenue

• Between 2:45 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Feb. 15 in the 4000 block of North Mason Avenue

• At 3:20 p.m. on Feb. 15 in the 4200 block of North Parkside Avenue

• At 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 in the 4900 block of West Hutchinson Street

• Between 2:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Feb. 24 in the 4100 block of North Long Avenue
