CHICAGO — James Morris, 23, was shot to death in North Lawndale on Sunday, officials said.
At 10:48 a.m., the man was sitting in the driver's seat of a parked car in the 1300 block of South Kedzie Avenue when a silver car drove by slowly and someone in the car fired shots, police said.
The man was hit multiple times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
Morris, of the 3100 block of West 15th Place, was pronounced dead at 11:15 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The driver of the silver car drove south on Kedzie Avenue, police said. No one was in custody.
The man was a documented gang member, a police source said, and officers think the shooting was gang-related.
