CHICAGO — A shooting in East Side killed Jose Rosas, 18, and wounded another man on Sunday morning, officials said.

At 1:20 a.m., the men were getting into a parked car in the 10900 block of South Mackinaw Avenue when someone in a passing silver Chevy Malibu fired shots at them, police said.

One man was hit in his back and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

Rosas, of the 10900 block of South Green Bay, was pronounced dead at 2:27 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The other man, 18, had his left ear cut, possibly from shattered glass from the car, police said.

No one was in custody.
