DOWNTOWN — The city enjoyed warm, sunny weather for most of the week, but it'll get hit with a pinch of snow starting Friday.

The snow will start during the night and stick around until Saturday morning, said AccuWeather meteorologist Paul Walker.

Don't expect anything substantial, though: There will be less than 1 inch, Walker said, and it shouldn't stick to roadways, though there might be slick spots on bridges and overpasses.

“It’ll be hard for snow to accumulate on ground surfaces because of how mild it’s been,” Walker said.

Temperatures will also take a tip to 28 to 29 degrees on Friday and only rise to the near-freezing mark on Saturday, Walker said. It'll be a mostly cloudy day.

Sunday temps are expected to rise to about 47 degrees and the day should start with sun before clouds move in, Walker said.

The nicer weather should stick around for the beginning of next week, with Monday hitting 51 degrees and warm temperatures lasting into Tuesday, Walker said.

It's normally around 38 degrees this time of year in Chicago, Walker said.
